Normandy day 3

The last day is here!
This morning we went to the British cemetery and had a service. Pictures below.

Then we went to see Pegasus bridge..

After some frites we made out way to a beach in Caen for some volleyball and football before the ferry. Il fait toujours beau!

Normandy day 2 part 2

We went for lunch in Bayeux, where pupils chose and bought their own lunch. Bonus points go to Matthew and Steve who tried snails!

(Mobile showing a picture of said snails!)

In the afternoon we went to Arromanches  to the 360 degree cinema to watch a film about the D Day landings.

We had a quick dinner....

And then set off for bowling. Some pupils couldn't resist opening some souvenirs a bit early..!

Bowling was entertaining! Mr Lewis was victorious in the teachers' game, with Mrs Davies coming in at a close second. The tension was in the air!

Oliver victorious after bowling a strike!

All are in bed and getting some rest before tomorrow's busy day and journey home. A bientôt!

Normandy day 2 part 1

Il fait beau aujourd'hui!

Lovely weather for all of our outings today. After a speedy continental breakfast, we set off by foot to see the Bayeux tapestry and visit the cathedral.

Just outside where the tapestries are kept - we weren't allowed to take pictures inside.

Gerwyn practising his French!

Some of the girls hard at work in the cathedral, answering questions in their booklets.

More pictures and details to follow later on.
