Final moments of the French exchange visit!

This year's French exchange visit has been a resounding success.
Yesterday the French students visited Cardiff Bay and went on the speed boat round the bay and also visited the Senedd.

This morning they departed via a day trip to Bath.
Here are some of their fond farewells this morning.

We are all looking forward to seeing our new French friends once again when we return to Rezé en juin!

7.2 Puppet Pals videos

Madame Jenkins' Year 7 French class had fun today making conversations using some of the French they've learnt so far this term. Have a look at some of their efforts!

Well done to Joe Marshman, Harry Whittaker, Connie Wood, Nicole Yip, Harriet Booth, Lucas Reid, Seren Williams and Keira Atyeo-Canter, whose videos feature above. Superbe!

Joint day out in Cardiff!

Today Cowbridge students and the French students went to Cardiff for the day.
First we went to the Millenium stadium and had a tour.

Here they are having a press conference. Rhys and Connor look the part!

Alex in the away rugby changing room which also happens to be the home football home changing room! We liked seeing Gareth Bale's jersey.

Imogen and Izzy holding the cup Wales won against Tonga.

Here is everyone: les Français et les Gallois devant le stade!

We then made our way to le château de Cardiff where we had a tour.

Voilà le groupe gallois! Ils s'amusent!

Here is the bandana gang!

Connor in the stocks!

Our final activity of the day was bowling where high spirits abounded.

The winner of the bowling was Lila May, one of our French guests who racked up an impressive score of 122.

Just time for a quick game of air hockey before we left. Very competitive!

Thank you, merci to Cowbridge students for your great company!

French exchange news

After an action packed weekend en famille including swimming, ice skating, cricket, and going to the beach our French friends visited Big Pit today and had a great time.

La cuisine et un cours de gallois

Here are the French students enjoying their cooking and their Welsh lesson with Mrs Evans. Diolch Mrs Evans. Merci beaucoup. Thank you to Mrs Pullen and the DT department for helping out with baking the fairy cakes!

Here is our language assistant Anne-Cécile helping with the cakes too!

Berlin 2015 Day 2

We started our day with a visit to the Jewish museum. Pupils went out and walked in the Garden of Exile to experience similar feelings of isolation as those Jews forced to flee their country for safety. The exhibitions in the museum were extremely moving.

The rest of the day was jam-packed. We went to Plötzensee memorial, and then to the Brandenburg Gate.
(If you look carefully, just above Hanä's head you can see the Fernsehturm, the Berlin  TV Tower!)

The Jewish memorial, just opposite Tiergarten.

And dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe!

Friday's events on the exchange

After a smooth journey over the French exchange students arrived safe and sound on Thursday.
Friday has got under way very well with a welcome event in the hall including performances by Tom Wood and Rhys Potter on the piano, Izzy Lynn and Abbie Johnson with a saxophone and piano duet, Connor Stratton on the drums and a very impressive goodwill message read by Rhys Potter, Jack Jenner, Imogen Marlor, Connor Stratton, Ffion McNamee, and Linea Stenlund-Roderick in a trilingual combination of French, English and Welsh.

The French students also sang us a song based on the track "breakfast in America".
French students are currently cooking and doing a quiz to find their way around the school!
More to follow soon........
